Get answers to common questions about Small 18" (Bra-strap length).
Expect 4–7 hours depending on hair density, twist size, and stylist speed. Small, bra-strap length twists take longer than larger styles. We recommend arriving with clean, detangled hair and allowing extra time for consultations or added color/matching services.
When installed by experienced stylists using proper tension and quality Spring Twist hair, risk is minimal. Regular scalp care, gentle removal, and not leaving styles beyond recommended time help prevent breakage. We'll assess your hair health during consultation to advise best approach.
Wrap hair with a satin scarf or bonnet each night and sleep on a satin pillowcase to reduce friction. Lightly oil the scalp and avoid heavy products on twists. Re-twist loose strands as needed and refresh with a water-based spray.
You can exercise and swim, but protect twists: wear a swim cap, rinse and condition afterward, and thoroughly dry to prevent mildew. Sweat is fine—cleanse scalp regularly. Avoid chlorine exposure when possible; we can recommend treatments to minimize dryness and color fade.
Small passion twists at bra-strap length usually last 6–8 weeks with proper care. Longevity depends on hair growth, maintenance routine, and activities. Schedule touch-ups or a gentle removal appointment when you notice significant new growth or matting at the roots.
Styling with heat is not recommended; avoid flat irons unless using heat-safe hair and professional technique. Semi-permanent color may be possible before installation; after-install coloring risks damage. Discuss customization during consultation so we can match or pre-color hair for safe results.
