Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Interlock (3 Hours).

The service is scheduled as a three-hour session focused on root interlocking. Most clients complete the work within this time, though thickness, loc size, and required repair can extend the session. We'll advise if additional time or a follow-up is needed.

Frequency varies by hair growth and loc thickness; generally schedule interlocking every 4–8 weeks to maintain neat roots and prevent matting. Thicker or faster-growing hair may need more frequent visits. We'll recommend a personalized schedule during consultation.

When performed correctly by trained stylists, interlocking is safe and preserves natural hair. Avoid excessive tension or very frequent sessions, which can cause stress. Communicate sensitivity and we’ll adjust technique to protect your hair and scalp.

Interlocking is compatible with most loc sizes and textures, but very thin or recently started locs may require modified technique. We assess each head during consultation to choose the right method and ensure durable, healthy results.

Clean hair is best—arrive freshly washed and completely dry unless stylist advises otherwise. Avoid heavy oils or conditioners before your appointment, and detangle loose ends gently. This helps the interlock hold better and provides a cleaner, longer-lasting finish.

Aftercare includes avoiding tight styles and heavy manipulation for 48 hours, keeping the scalp moisturized with light mist or oil, sleeping on a satin pillowcase, and following recommended wash intervals. Return for touch-ups as advised to maintain neat roots.
