Individual braids can last four to eight weeks depending on thickness, length and maintenance. Smaller, tighter braids usually hold longer; jumbo styles may loosen sooner. Following aftercare, avoiding heavy oils and sleeping with a silk scarf extends longevity.
Yes — extensions increase both time and cost because of added hair and installation complexity. Exact pricing varies by length and thickness. During booking we estimate hours and extension costs so you receive a clear quote before your appointment.
For thin or sensitive scalps we recommend larger or jumbo braids and lighter tension to reduce stress. Medium braids can work if your stylist adjusts parting and tension. Book a consultation so we can assess hair density and recommend the best size.
Yes — you can wash carefully. Use diluted shampoo, focus on the scalp, rinse gently and avoid vigorous rubbing. Pat dry and air-dry whenever possible or use a low-heat dryer. Wait at least one week after installation before the first wash.
Installation time varies: small braids may take six to eight hours, medium four to six hours, large three to five hours and jumbo two to four hours depending on length and stylist speed. We provide specific estimates when booking.
