You can swim and exercise, but take precautions: wear a swim cap in chlorinated or salt water, rinse and condition hair immediately after, and tie twists up for vigorous workouts to prevent frizz and reduce tangling.
Wash every one to two weeks using diluted shampoo applied to the scalp; gently cleanse and rinse without roughing the twists. Condition roots and rinse thoroughly, air-dry or blow-dry on low, and protect at night with a silk scarf. Re-twist loose roots as needed.
Coloring or heat styling depends on the hair type used. Synthetic hair cannot be colored and resists heat; human or heat-friendly extensions may be colored or styled at low temperatures. Discuss options during consultation so we choose safe products and techniques for your twists.
